Pic For The Day - Happy Samhain

Happy Halloween everybody! We went to a traditional Samhain celebration tonight. We had a terrific time, and we'll tell you about soon. At one point a boat was rowed to the middle of the loch and a floating bonfire was lit. Here's the shot. SPOOOOOOKYYY!

We've Made a Terrible Mistake

We just ate dinner at a Scottish Pizza Hut. The kids loved it -- as any kid anywhere loves any Pizza Hut. I have to go now and find the Tums.

Oban Distillery, Seals, and Narrowly Averted Disaster

Tuesday we woke up, which is generally the best way to start a day, and decided to jump in the car and head to the Highlands. After some quick packing, and some obligatory yelling at the kids. we were out of the flat by noon. We programmed our navigator (we call her Betty) towards the town of Oban and hit the road -- the beautiful, beautiful, winding two lane road to Oban.

We hadn't booked ahead, but the tourist office found a place for us to stay just up the hill. Betty was a little unclear in her directions, and we ended up having to turn our gigantic

H&M Hijinks

The family popped into H&M the other day to see what we could see. We were looking for sweaters and scarves, cause Scotland is cold, and we're from California. I headed one way, and Bob and the kids headed the other (I love it when that happens). When we met back up at the front of the store Bob was alone.
